In 1960’s Kitakyushu faced serious pollution, causing “Sea of Death” and “Rainbow Sky”. After tramsforming into environmentally-friendly city, the city strives to maintain the name of World Capital of Sustainable Development. Kitakyushu Environment Museum is the center of environmental learning and interaction for communities, schools, corporations, and other organizations, providing support to develop environmental leaders who act to solve today’s environmental problems.
