[Call for 17 university students] The SDGs Global Human Development Program that Connects Learing and Society through Environmental Issues

IGES will organise the “SDGs Global Human Resource Development Program that Connects Learning and Society through Environmental Issues” from July 2024 to January 2025. This activity is part of a UNESCO Activity Grant for FY2024 to promote the development of leaders in achieving the SDGs and is funded under the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology in Japan. The participants are expected to learn about the international framework and latest environmental discussions regarding SDGs in an introductory session in July. Afterwords, a visit will be conducted at three leading SDGs regions in Japan, such as Kamikatsu Town, Kitakyushu City, and Minamata City, in which diverse stakeholders are collaborating and creating synergistic effects on the economy and society by addressing environmental issues. The programme fosters young leaders in a sustainable society, who have the potential to develop international competencies and take the first step towards action.
